Jeet is from India and is studying a Master of Engineering Electrical engineering at Central Queensland University in Rockhampton.
Jeet decided to join the Queensland Study Advisory Panel as he wanted to represent the Central Queensland region at the state-level. Being an international student in regional Queensland, Jeet feels this panel will give him the privilege to voice the opinions of both the domestic and international students in his region. He hopes to make their study experience a memorable and highly fruitful experience. He also hopes to foster some great connections and networks around government and industry to help him learn from other people’s experiences, taking away valuable knowledge and feedback. He also hopes this role will help him curate solutions in the betterment of students’ lives and their university experience in Queensland.
Jeet chose Queensland as his study destination for predominantly three reasons. Number one the sub-tropical weather of Queensland is very similar to his native city of Asansol, India, this suited him well and helped him to settle down easily. Secondly, the state of Queensland has low costs of living in comparison to the other Australian regions. Lastly, Queensland along with its world class education system, is home to a wide-range of natural beauty like the Great Barrier Reef.
