Tash is from Mauritius and is studying a Bachelor of Bachelor of arts, majoring in English at James Cook University in Townsville.
She wanted to be a part of the Queensland Student Advisory Panel because she believes she has the experience and skills to help new international and domestic students feel more confident about studying in Queensland. Tash is an international student and knows firsthand what it’s like being away from family, living in a new country and speaking a different language. The adaptation to university and dealing with classes can also be daunting, she wants to be part of the student advisory panel to be a point of contact for new students and help direct them to the right places in times of confusion or stress.
Tash chose to study in Townsville, Queensland as she is a nature lover and I wanted to study in a place and setting she loves. She is enjoying every bit of it and feels she chose correctly as the setting makes her happy and provides the perfect atmosphere to study and learn. She is an international student from Mauritius, coming from a tropical island has indeed influenced her choice to study in Queensland, reminding her of home.
